SHOPPERS will get a sneak preview of the Paralympic Torch when it visits stores in Greenwich and Eltham this weekend ahead of its official tour.
Customers and colleagues at Sainsbury’s in Greenwich and Eltham can have their photographs taken with the flame as a thank you to the chain's sponsoring of the Games.
Manager of the Bugsbys way store David Perks will use the opportunity on Saturday (Aug 18) from 3.45pm to raise cash for the Charlton Park Riding for the Disabled Association charity.
He said: "We’ve really enjoyed playing our part in raising awareness of the London 2012 Paralympic Games in Greenwich.
"For our customers, it’s a once in a lifetime chance for them to see the torch and feel the buzz of the Paralympic Games."
On Sunday, the torch will also visit Sainsbury’s Eltham, from 10am, raising money for the store's chosen charity the Freddie Farmer Foundation.
