LEWISHAM is to host a Paralympics Sports Day ahead of the games involving sports that will be played in the London Paralympics.
Held at Ladywell Arena on Friday from 11am-3pm, the representatives from various care centres will experience sports that they may never have taken part in before.
The athletes will be from four boroughs with Lewisham representatives from: Leemore/Wesley day centre, Naborhood day centre, Challenging needs service, Mulberry day centre and Horizons.
Representatives from Bexley, Bromley and Southwark are also competing.
Cabinet Member for Community Services, Chris Best said: “This event is an excellent opportunity for Lewisham and neighbouring boroughs to actively get involved in sports as London prepares to host the Paralympic Games.
"It’s great that so many people are involved and I’m sure there’ll be many more who will come to show their support.”
The public are encouraged to go and support their Boroughs.
