A NEW university technical college in Woolwich has taken another step forward by appointing its principal.
Mike Sharp, currently head of business, information, technology and enterprise at the University of Greenwich will take up his post from next January ahead of the opening in September.
Mr Sharp has previously worked for the British Council, introducing new technologies to schools in India, as well as holding senior roles in the engineering industry.
Created with £10.4m of investment, the college will offer a specialist professional and technical education to 600 students studying GCSEs, A-levels and other qualifications.
It will focus on engineering and construction, pledging every student the opportunity to get an apprenticeship, relevant job or place in higher or further education.
