TWO Bromley police officer's heroic actions will be recognised in a national television awards show tonight (August 16).
PCs Jess Hallybone and Ed Inglis saved the life of jogger Gavin Boyce after he collapsed in Bexleyheath's Danson Road on January 8.
The 30-year-old, who was training for the London marathon with a friend, was resuscitated twice by the officers using chest compressions before an ambulance arrived.
A special message from Mr Boyce will be played during the awards to be aired on BBC1 at 8pm thanking the officers for their quick-thinking that morning as they travelled to work.
Bromley Police Sergeant Philip Spaul said: “I cannot praise Jess and Ed’s actions enough, their quick and professional intervention to this emergency saved Mr Boyce's life.”
Mr Boyce was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, when he remained in a critical condition for over a week.
