A THIEF punched a man in the face before making off with till cash at a superstore in Eltham on Friday.
A man queued to buy items at Marks and Spencer’s in Eltham High Street before grabbing money from the till and running out.
The cashier slammed the shoplifter’s fingers in the till and a member of the public tried to stop him but the man got away.
A Greenwich police spokeswoman said: “At around 2pm on August 10 there was a till snatch.
“A male snatched an unknown amount of money.
“A member of the public was injured when he tried to stop him.
“The suspect ran to a nearby vehicle driven by another suspect.”
There are three suspects and police are currently investigating and looking at CCTV images.
