PATIENTS were treated to bottled water this morning after a water pipe burst at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.
A fire engine from Woolwich was called at around 4.20am to pump drinking water into the affected tank.
Wards were stocked with bottles of water while the crew tackled the tank until 10.15am.
A South London Healthcare Trust spokesman said: “A burst water pipe at approx 4.30am this morning affected the drinking water at the QEH site.
"Normal hot and cold water supplies were not affected.
“This has caused minimal disruption to the site and to patients and our services are continuing as normal.
“A specialist team is on site to repair the pipe and the repair is due to be complete this afternoon.”
