RUNNY honey is the secret to the long life of a lady in Crayford who turned 100 last week.
Doris McCann reached the milestone on August 9 and she always makes sure to have some on her cereal along with her husband Mac of 73 years - who turns 101 in September himself.
The couple have lived at Beech Haven Court retirement home for 24 years before which they lived in Chiddingstone Avenue, Bexleyheath.
Doris is from Abbey Wood where she helped out in her parents' grocery shop as a young woman before she was married on Boxing Day 1938.
Mac worked as a civil servant and though the pair had no children, niece Sandra Cooper and family were among many friends and relations who came for a party on Doris' special day.
Sandra says the birthday girl had a lovely time with lots of flowers and chocolates to celebrate.
