MORE THAN half a million passengers have tested Greenwich’s cable car flights after just six weeks of lift-off.
The new 1.1km river crossing between Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks averages 20,000 flights per day since it opened on June 28.
Oyster card users can touch in for a five-minute single journey at £3.20 while a regular fare sets you back £4.30. Oyster travelcards do not cover the trip.
A panoramic non-stop return providing views of Canary Wharf, the Thames Barrier and the Olympic Park costs £6.40 with an Oyster card.
There is also a "frequent flyer" pass which is £16 for 10 single journeys.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "The Emirates Air Line is fast becoming an iconic way of traversing the Thames and an important link for Londoners living in the east of our city.
"Its value has been evident during the 2012 Games and with this part of London set to thrive with new homes and businesses it will continue to be a significant part of our public transport network."
