FIREWORKS will be sending off the Olympics with a bang in Woolwich on Saturday.
The display will take place above the summer sight of tall ships cruising along the river at the Royal Arsenal Pier at 9.45pm.
Spectators can enjoy the free show with the action launching from a barge to the east of the pier.
Leader of Greenwich Council Councillor Chris Roberts said: “This spectacular fireworks display is the perfect way to celebrate what has been a hugely successful Games for the Royal Borough and its residents.
“The magnificent Tall Ships will provide a stunning background from the Royal Arsenal Pier.”
Greenwich residents can get involved with another Olympic send off, by visiting one of the big screens to enjoy the closing ceremony festival atmosphere.
Screens can be found at the Old Royal Navy College, General Gordon Square and the Tudor Barn.
