A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a Bexleyheath shopper at Bluewater.
Dawn Patricia Chedd, of Cranleigh Drive, Swanley, appeared before magistrates in Dartford this morning (July 31) charged with causing the death of 71-year-old Claire Bishop by careless or inconsiderate driving.
Ambulance crews found Mrs Bishop, of Romney Gardens, Bexleyheath, trapped under the wheels of a silver Vauxhall Zafira in level one of the blue car park at the Greenhithe shopping centre at around 3pm on January 4.
Mrs Bishop was rushed to the specialist major trauma unit at Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill with head, chest and abdominal injuries and died five days later, on the morning of January 9.
At a brief 10-minute hearing at Dartford Magistrates’ Court, 48-year-old Chedd spoke only to confirm her name and address.
Magistrates granted Chedd unconditional bail, to return to the same court on September 25 when the case will be committed to Maidstone Crown Court.
