A 54-YEAR-old man was rushed to hospital after falling into a fire in Longfield.
Firemen were called to Northdown Road at 10:33pm on Friday (July 27) after receiving reports that a man had fallen into a brazier fire in his garden.
Although the man was taken to hospital with burns to the lower half of his body, his injuries are not deemed to be life threatening.
Neighbours dashed to the man’s help shortly after the accident, extinguishing the fire from his clothes and submerging his burns in cold water.
Dartford watch manager David Boakes said: “Although accidents can and do happen it is vital anyone having a fire in their garden, such as a bonfire or barbeque, puts measures in place to help keep themselves and their family safe from fire.
“I would like to praise the quick actions of the residents who aided their neighbour in his time of need and prevented the burns becoming more serious.”
