A MOTORCYCLIST has been robbed of his motorbike after being chased and beaten by two men on scooters.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was followed through traffic from West Wickham to Warlingham by the men on a black scooter, where he was attacked in Hamsey Green Gardens as he tried to escape.
The men demanded the keys to his bike then hit him on the back of the head. When he continued to refuse they wheeled the vehicle away.
Surrey Police are appealing for help in finding the men.
The rider of the scooter is described as a black man, of medium build, around 5ft 8ins and had a black bandana across his nose and mouth.
His passenger is white, of medium build, around 5ft 8ins.
Both men were wearing dark full face helmets and dark coloured tracksuits.
The victim was driving along the A2022, Addington Road, on his way to Warlingham to visit a friend when he first noticed a black scooter following him.
As he drove through the roundabout at Lodge Lane he noticed one of them shouting at him, but could not hear them and continued on.
At about 5.40pm on July 19 he turned into Hamsey Green Gardens, the scooter pulled up alongside and they tried to grab the keys before launching the attack as he ran for safety.
Detective Constable Portia Andrews said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim who was clearly targeted by the offenders for his motorcycle.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw the actual theft take place or who witnessed the events leading up to it when the motorcyclist was being pursued through traffic on his way into Warlingham especially when both vehicles stopped at the roundabout on the A2022 at the Lodge Lane junction.
