PUPILS from a Crayford primary school have raised £2,649 by completing a 7km race.

Two hundred youngsters from St Paulinus Church of England Primary School, in Iron Mill Lane, raised the cash for Young Epilepsy - a charity dedicated to children and young people living with epilepsy.

The children ran around the school and their woods as part of the annual event.

Headteacher, Marilyn Davey, said: "We do this fun run every year for charity but this time we have broken all the previous fundraising records and we couldn’t be more delighted that it’s all going to such a deserving charity.

"Epilepsy affects many people and the work Young Epilepsy do both in and out of schools is outstanding".

Young Epilepsy community fundraising manager, James Hunt, said: "This is a fantastic amount raised by St Paulinus CoE Primary School.

"Everyone at Young Epilepsy is so thrilled. I would like to thank all the teachers and volunteers who helped organise the event, everyone’s friends and family for donating and, most of all, the students who participated."
