DRAG KINGS and queens of Greenwich are being called to dress up and take part in an annual race around the borough.
Kings must sport facial hair and queens must don two-inch-high heels, according to the rules of the race run by charity The Metro Centre.
This is the Metro Drag Race’s seventh year and will be hosted by renowned drag artist Dave Lynn on August 18 at 6.30pm.
Kicking off at The Prince of Greenwich in Royal Hill, the race will wind through Hyde Vale, King George Street and Point Hill.
Mayor of Greenwich Councillor David Grant will open the festivities which will include live entertainment, a barbeque, raffle and stalls.
Metro’s Head of Fundraising Hugh Wright said: "In this important year for London, we want to make METRO Drag Race 2012 the best ever and we are encouraging everyone across the capital to get involved by registering to take part, sponsoring participants and promoting the event to others via Twitter, Facebook and any other way you can.
"Please feel free to use our hashtag #MetroDragRace2012 and get on board to support our work providing health, community and youth services."
