A PRIMARY school is celebrating the opening of a new two-storey building which has been a year in the making.

Dulverton School, in Dulverton Road, New Eltham, has officially opened The Jubilee Building, after the name was chosen by pupils and staff.

The ground floor has been designed as a large multi-functional area for dance and drama while upstairs is a flexible working space for group work, interventions and meetings.

To mark the event, children’s artwork from across the school was exhibited on the ground floor.

Headteacher Susan Stringman said: "The construction of the jubilee building has not been without some challenges and drama but we’re over-the-moon that we’ve now got such a fantastic new building for our children.

"This couldn’t have happened without the wonderful support of our school governors."
