KENT is flying the Olympic flag to welcome teenagers from Europe and South Korea.
Around 250 young people, aged 14 to 17, arrived in the county to take part in GlobalCamp - a celebration of different cultures.
The event, which takes place at Swattenden Outdoor Education Centre in Cranbrook, began today (July 28) and will end on August 5.
It involves Kent’s teens meeting people from Ireland, South Korea, Finland, Luxembourg, Russia, Sweden, Germany, Slovenia, Ukraine, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy.
They find out about each other’s cultures and countries as well as take part in activities, explore parts of Kent and celebrate the Games together.
It was organised by Kent County Council’s integrated youth services.
KCC head of integrated youth services, Nigel Baker, said: "The Olympic and Paralympic Games is the perfect opportunity to learn about and understand different cultures and celebrate them with those from other countries.
"The KCC youth service aims to help young people develop skills for the future and GlobalCamp is a great way to do just that and have lots of fun with their international friends."
