BEXLEY Council is searching the borough for unsung heroes.
The Civic Recognition Award scheme honours people who have devoted their time to the voluntary service and organisations which have gained outstanding achievement.
Mayor of Bexley and chairman of the council’s civic recognition panel, Councillor Alan Downing, said: "We know that there are many people in the borough who have given unselfishly of their time voluntarily over many years to help others in the community.
"We also believe that many of our residents achieve outstanding success in their particular field, whether it be sport, the arts or business.
"These people deserve to be recognised by the council for their sterling work. The Civic Recognition Award Scheme is one way of saying thank you to them."
The closing date for nominations is November 16.
