A NORTH West Kent College student is celebrating after being named Dulux Apprentice of the Year.
Aron Baker, who started the painting and decorating course three years ago, entered the national competition after previously winning the southern regional finals three years in a row.
The 20-year-old, from Welling, said: "I was over the moon when I found out that I had won the apprentice of the year award.
"My tutor Philip Jubb has been really encouraging and I’m still celebrating."
The college was also awarded Dulux Decorator’s Centre of the Year and will host the competition next year.
Lecturer Philip Jubb said: "I am so proud of what Aron has achieved.
"He is an outstanding decorator and well-rounded young man. He is a credit to both his family and the college."
