BEXLEY has been named one of the best places to live in the capital.
The borough was judged the best place to live in London for families whose children have flown the nest, due to its low average house prices, good air quality, lower population density, community spirit and good life expectancy.
It was judged third in London for families with young children and fifth in the capital for families with older children.
The survey, published by Experian Property-Check, says the borough is popular with downsizers, who move out of central London to release equity from their homes for their retirement.
The results were generated from more than 40 sets of data, which rate how well children do at local schools, crime rates, air quality, career opportunities, together with shops and nightlife.
