Local link: Born in Anerley.

Career high: Being chosen to represent her country of birth at this summer’s London Games.
Sporting background: Janine was born in Anerley but raised in America from the age of 11 and it was in the US where she took up volleyball.
She currently plays in Spain for Valeriano Alles Menorca Volei.
Her previous clubs include University of Washington and Spanish outfit CV Albacete.
We say: Britain are ranked 69th in the world at women’s volleyball and are only taking part in the Games because the host nation automatically qualify so Janine’s chances of a podium finish look very slim.
