Sporting background: Just like fellow weightlifter and Europa gym member Jack Oliver from Bexley, Smith was initially a gymnast before becoming a weightlifter six years ago in order to represent Greenwich in the London Youth Games. She says: I’m elated to have been selected for the team.
It has been a nerve-wracking period ahead of selection, so I’m glad that I've secured my place to say I’ll be representing Team GB.
We say: Zoe goes into these Games as a very strong medal contender.
In a sport where China are expected to dominate, Zoe can buck the trend and fly the flag.
