A TEENAGER has appeared in court again this morning (July 24) charged with trying to grab the Olympic Torch in Gravesend.
The 17-year-old from Gravesend – who cannot be named for legal reasons – had his case adjourned for three weeks at Dartford Youth Court.
His case will next be heard at the same court on the morning of August 14.
The youth was charged at Medway Youth Court on Saturday (July 21) with common assault, assaulting a police officer and a public order offence.
He was granted conditional bail, with the conditions stating he must not intentionally be present at any Olympic or Paralympic event, he must live and sleep at his home address in Gravesend and he must comply with the Youth Offending Team.
The charges relate to an incident at 9:55am on Friday (July 20), as the torch was being carried by Polish torchbearer Anna Skora in Rochester Road.
