PEOPLE across the south-east are being invited to enter the ninth annual Startups Awards.

The event recognises Britain's newest businesses which have been trading for less than three years.

There are thirteen awards up for grabs including Trade Business of the Year, Freelance Business of the Year, Online Business of the Year and Innovative Business of the Year.

Duncan Bannatyne, from Dragons’ Den, will sit on the judging panel with a number of other entrepreneurs and business experts

David Lester, founder of Startups.co.uk, said: "Each year we unearth a whole set of innovative new businesses representing the unique diversity the start-up community has to offer, from home businesses to franchisees.

"I am confident we will have another fantastic pick of companies, from the south-east and across the UK, which will show that, despite the recession, British innovation is still booming."

The deadline for entries is September 14 and winners will be announced on December 7.
