PARTS of the News Shopper area are winning the post code lottery on youth employment according to the latest statistics.
A survey released by the Nominet Trust charity revealed a “post code lottery” for the life chances of youngsters throughout the nation.
The study, based on work by researchers from the University of Sheffield and the University of Brighton, examined the chances of youngsters to gain employment and university spaces based entirely on location.
In the Bromley area 44 per cent of youths are likely to be in full time employment, in Dartford 47 per cent and Bexley 50 per cent - all higher than the national average of 38 per cent.
Forty per cent will attend university from the Bromley area, higher than the average 27 per cent across the country.
However both Bexley and Dartford fall below the average for entrance to university, with 21 per cent for Bexley and 23 per cent for Dartford.
