Olympic Torch Relay map and torch bearers: Bexley

Day 65 will see the flame start in Redbridge at 7.19am before making its way through the boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering.

It will reach Erith Yacht Club at 4.14pm after travelling across the River Thames on board a fireboat.

Thousands are expected to line the streets to witness the occasion before 20,000 people enjoy an evening celebration event at Danson Park.

Boxing champion Lennox Lewis will then carry the flame on to the stage to light the cauldron at 6.50pm.

In total eight runners with direct Bexley connections will carry the torch through the borough, with 163 torchbearers carrying the flame 32.37 miles during the day.

Torch bearers

Charlotte Lock – 16, from Bexley. Charlotte is working towards pushing through a measure for the Young Carers of Bexley. She was voted Deputy Chair of Bexley Youth Council (BYC) because of her commitment over the last two-and-a-half years, attending training sessions on challenging disability.

Clare Turner – 31, from Bexley. In April 2008, Clare discovered that one of her closest friends, 27-year-old Emily, had colon cancer. Clare would always be there to support her and made plans to take her for a last visit to the cinema and also what music she wanted to be played at her funeral. Emily died in August 2008.

Daniel Opoku – 49, from Erith. As a ticket office clerk for South West trains at Mortlake Station, Daniel has won numerous awards for his customer service. He takes full ownership of his station and everyone that travels through it. For the past two years he has given educational presentations on railway safety and travel to pupils at High View Primary School, Clapham Junction.

Dawn Saunders – 41, from Bexleyheath. Dawn is a foster carer and looks after children who need her love and support as well as looking after he own children. She also works at a youth centre helping to teach and support 11 to 18 year olds. Dawn also takes part in Community Watch, helping to make sure the area is a pleasant and safe place to live in. She is a keen runner and has completed five marathons in five weeks.

Kenneth Owen – 91, from Bexley. As a young man Ken was a top runner for his school and the army. His war years were mostly in the Middle East intercepting enemy messages and he still listens to morse code to keep his speed up. For many years Ken voluntarily assisted schools and Scouts with camping trips. After retiring, he walked coast to coast from the Lake District to Northumberland and he still plays badminton regularly with an over 50's club.

Laura Crane – 23, from Bexleyheath. Since the age of 14, Laura has been a member of Bexley Athletic Club. She was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening condition, Weneger's Granulomatosis, when she was 18 and had to undergo extensive treatment including chemotherapy. Although her illness has left her deaf in one ear, Laura never complains but instead always goes out of her way to help others. She has since returned to athletics and coaches children.

Mike Stacey – 53, from Sidcup. Mike has raised £20,000 for Hurst Primary School over the last eight years by writing, directing and performing in the school's annual pantomime. The funds have been used to buy equipment for the playground, install a decking area and upgrade the school's sound system.

Sandra Soler-Gomez – 42, from Sidcup. Sandra is a busy full-time employed mum-of-two, who always finds time to help others. She helps with cleaning banks of the river, delivering groceries to the elderly, painting community centres and helping out at the local scouting group. Sandra organises a bi-annual charity ball and over the past eleven years has raised £28,743.
