A CHARITY which sends 32,000 youngsters a year on adventure experiences each year has won backing form a major supermarket chain.
Widehorizons mainly works with children in Lewisham and Greenwich, taking them on outdoor activities around the country.
With more than half the UK's children having no access to the countryside, the charity aims to provide access to adventure as part of their education.
Sainsbury's in Forest Hill has now chosen Widehorizons as its charity of the year and will raise cash via activities including bake sales, fancy dress days and sponsored walks.
The organisation was chosen because of its close links with Forest Hill schools.
Widehorizons chairman John Russell said: "Working in partnership with Sainsbury’s will help provide many more local children with their very own adventure".
