FOR some children any excuse is used to have time off school but not for one dedicated 11-year-old.
John Bakare has been given two tickets to an Olympic event for his 100 per cent attendance at Castilion Primary School, in Copperfield road, Thamesmead.
The committed Year 6 pupil has not had a single day off school since joining in reception aged four.
Class teacher Andrew Cowley said: "We always have a lot of children who reach 100 per cent each year but we have never had anyone approach 100 per cent over seven years, it's a huge achievement.
"John is very dedicated coming to school. He is here early every morning not just on time.
"He has set himself the target of doing the same when he goes to Beth's Grammar School in September."
John also received a certificate for his achievement during an assembly.
