The man jumped from the Dartford Bridge on Saturday evening.
A MAN is thought to be dead after CCTV footage captured him leaping from the Dartford Bridge on Saturday evening (July 18).
Staff working at the crossing alerted Essex police officers to an abandoned car on the bridge at about 9:30pm.
Police say they were initially contacted at around 9pm on the same evening following concerns for the well-being of a man in his 30’s, from the South Woodham Ferrers area.
An Essex police spokesman said: “Police believe the person who jumped off the bridge is the same man.
“As yet, a body has not been recovered from the River Thames but police and coastguard are searching the bank of the river surrounding the bridge.”
Searches for the man’s body are on-going.
