LEWISHAM'S most inspiring youngsters have been awarded for their work at a ceremony attended by 600 people.
The Pupil Ambassadors, who work alongside Lewisham Council in secondary and primary schools, were given awards at a Broadway Theatre ceremony attended by Doreen Lawrence and Barry and Margaret Mizen from the Jimmy Mizen Foundation.
From diverse backgrounds and in education themselves, the ambassadors aim to help young people focus on their future.
Amongst the winners were Sue Lemos, 16, from Bonus Pastor Catholic College and Fyesa Gabaio, 11, of Adamsrill School, who picked up an Outstanding Achievement Award.
Other award winners included Conisborough College's school council and the healthy tuck shop team from Coopers Lane Primary.
Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock said: "They're a typical example of Lewisham’s younger generation because they care so much about not only their own futures, but the future of other young people as well."
