A DARTFORD woman is celebrating after being selected as one of the nation’s most hopeless cooks.
Annabelle Bezant, of Oakfield Lane, beat off thousands of applicants to make the final 12 in the Disaster Chef competition.
For the next 12 weeks, the 24-year-old will receive a weekly food hamper with a recipe inside, to master using her Kenwood Chef.
She will blog about her experiences in the hope of being crowned Kenwood Chef 2012.
Miss Bezant's worst cooking disaster was her attempt at cooking spaghetti bolognese.
After closely following the recipe she realised she had used a pot of strawberry jam instead of tomato sauce and despite tasting it, still served it to her horrified family.
She said: "I have always struggled with cooking so I am really looking forward to getting into the kitchen with my new Kenwood Chef and learning how to make lovely food for my family and friends."
The winner will be announced on September 29.
