DESPITE the rain over Bromley the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign over her subjects passed without incident yesterday.
Thirty Bromley police officers were deployed for crowd control purposes, along with the police cadets, as 30,000 people lined the town centre’s streets to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty.
There were no arrests during the visit, it all passed off peacefully.
A Bromley police spokesman said: "In the diamond jubilee year of the Queen it does not get any better than a visit to Bromley, London's most beautiful borough.
“Bromley gave the Queen a jubilee welcome which sparkled and was a day of unforgettable memories for all.
“Forget the weather, Bromley celebrated a different kind of reign - 60 years of Her Majesty the Queen.
"It was a truly fantastic day."
