Saharah Brown, 23, Plumstead
Why this design?
I always wanted a butterfly but all the other butterflies were too cliché and too girly.
I thought of having a tribal butterfly and we went from there.
I found the image and after the outline was done Russ (the tattooist) put the shapes in himself.
I think it’s beautiful.
How much did it cost?
£140
Did it hurt?
To be honest it did hurt but it was not as painful as I thought it would be.
It was the kind of pain I could deal with.
When he went over the bone on my ribcage it hurt the most.
It felt like someone scraping your skin with 100 needles all at once.
Have you got any more?
I’ve got two more.
I have a treble clef and music notes on my ankle because I’m a singer and I’m into music.
I’ve got the word Aries on my thigh which is my star sign.
We are quite fiery.
What did your friends say?
They loved it.
I think they love the fact it’s so different and they’d never seen anything like that before.
You see so many butterflies but none like this.
*Saharah got her tattoo done at Skinfinity Tattoos in Herbert Road, Plumstead
