AN UNEMPLOYED 25-year-old woman has been sentenced to two years in prison for attacking a beauty salon with an iron bar during the August riots.
Kellie Hall, of Casella Road, New Cross, was seen by police repeatedly hitting the window of the Joseph Annell shop in Lewisham High Street on August 9.
Meanwhile, her unemployed friend Julie Aldrich, aged 31, of Shroffold Road, Downham, goaded Hall on, Inner London Crown Court heard.
Hall had denied attempted burglary, claiming she deliberately tried to get arrested to avoid going rioting with friends in Woolwich.
Aldrich, who pleaded guilty to the same charge at an earlier hearing, was jailed for 13 months.
The January 13 sentences are the longest handed down to those involved in the Lewisham disorder so far.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Niall Crowley said: "Whilst officers sought to reassure the public and communities leaders called for calm, Hall and Aldrich thought they would use it as an opportunity to commit more crime and encourage others to continue on with the disorder.”
