POLICE are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman collapsed and died after a suspected drug overdose.

Carla Deary, of Magpie Hall Lane, Bromley, was taken to Mayday Hospital, Croydon, on September 24.

She collapsed at an address in Handcroft Road, Croydon, thought to be the home of an on-off boyfriend, at 3am and died an hour later in hospital.

A post-mortem held at Croydon Mortuary on Tuesday was inconclusive and further toxicology tests are due to take place.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Jacquie Hands of Croydon CID said: "It is important that we learn as much as possible about Carla's life in order to effectively investigate her tragic death.

"Accordingly, I would like to speak with anybody who knew Carla or who saw her last weekend.

"I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Old Derby pub, also known as the Paddock Pit pub, on Pitlake Road, Croydon on the evening of September 22.

"I also want to hear from anyone who was in the Moon under the Water pub in London Road, Croydon between 2-3pm on September 23, or in the Welcome Inn in Northwood Road, Norbury between 3-6pm that day.

"Later on Saturday night, Carla attended a party at a flat in Dartmouth House, Elmwood Road, Croydon.

"She left this party shortly after midnight. I need to speak with anybody who at any time attended this party."

Miss Deary was a former Princes Plain Primary School pupil, in Church Lane, Bromley.

She also attended Ravensbourne Secondary Schoo, Hayes Lane, Bromley.
