THE racist men guilty of murdering Stephen Lawrence have been jailed for a total of 29 years.
Yesterday Gary Dobson, 36, and David Norris, aged 35, were found guilty of killing the teenager on Well Hall Road, Eltham in 1993.
The 18-year-old student died after he was attacked by a gang of youths and stabbed at a bus stop.
Dobson who is currently serving a five year jail sentence for drug dealing was jailed for a minimum of 15 years and two months.
Norris, who has previously been convicted of a race hate attack in which a car was driven at a black police officer, was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years and three months in prison.
Both were sentenced as juveniles because of their ages at the time of the murder.
During the seven-week trial jurors were shown covert footage filmed by the police of both murderers using racist language, referring to black people as 'n*****s'.
The surveillance also showed Norris talking about torturing and killing black people. As part of a cold-case review new forensic evidence was discovered by scientists 15 years after Mr Lawrence's death.
New scientific techniques revealed a tiny bloodstain on Dobson's jacket that could only have been from the victim, while a single hair belonging to the teenager was also found on Norris' jeans.
