TORY leader David Cameron is News Shopper readers' choice to be the next Prime Minister - getting three times more votes than Gordon Brown.
But the result of our online poll is not a cause for celebration for Mr Cameron, because it seems voters do not have much faith in him, likely Labour leader Mr Brown or Lib Dem leader Sir Menzies Campbell.
The most popular answer to the question of who would make the best PM was "none of the above".
Nearly half of people who responded to our vote, 48.8 per cent, said none of the top three political contenders would make the best premier.
Of the men expected to lead the main parties into the next general election, Mr Cameron of the Conservatives was the most popular, receiving 34.1 per cent of the vote.
Mr Brown - widely predicted to take over from Tony Blair as Labour leader - languished a long way behind on just 9.3 per cent.
Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies was considered to be the best mnan for the top job in the country by just 7.8 per cent of voters.
