Kent County Council’s cabinet members have visited Europe’s largest Sikh temple.
The Shri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, off Saddington Street, Gravesend, took more than nine years to build and opened in November last year.
Leader of Kent County Council, Councillor Paul Carter, and his team had lunch in the £14m Gurdwara with elders from the Sikh community.
Cllr Carter said: "We very much welcomed the invitation to tour the Gurdwara and meet some of those engaged in the vital community work that they undertake.
"This is a landmark building in Kent - indeed it is one of the largest such temples in the world and I would recommend visiting it to gain an insight into the Sikh community."
