EXTRA on-street parking spaces are being provided to reduce problems when supermarket building works start.
The 368 spaces in Orpington town centre will come into use in mid-October so people can get used to the new system before the Station Road car park closes.
It is being knocked down by Tesco which will then build a new store.
Electronic signs will also be put up to direct drivers to other car parks nearby.
The development is expected to take two years to complete.
Bromley Council is to review all parking restrictions when the work is over.
