POLICE were called to a pub after reports of a man threatening people with a syringe.
Officers arrived at the King William IV pub in Croydon Road, Beckenham, on September 25 at 11.30pm.
The man's partner told police the syringe contained a potentially lethal dose of insulin.
There was a stand-off as the man, 32, threatened to inject himself and the officers. An hour later he did inject himself and was arrested for affray.
He was taken to Lewisham Hospital, where he is still under arrest.
The man is not thought to be seriously ill.
