FESTIVE cheer is in store for shoppers after the council has agreed to help fund Christmas lights.
Bromley Council has agreed to give £5,000 towards the lights on Penge High Street.
This amount will be match-funded by traders and the community.
Ward councillor John Getgood said: "We need to raise around £3,000 to have a decent show.
"We are already nearly halfway there.
"Now we need the traders to do their bit towards bringing some festive cheer to Penge.
"It must be in everyone's interest to brighten up our High Street."
Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund should send cheques payable to London Borough of Bromley - Penge to Town Centre Managers, Bromley Civic Centre, Bromley, BR1 3UH.
