THREE fraudsters have been sentenced for illegally claiming benefits.
Nicola Bennett, of Cobham Close, Bromley, was given a community punishment order and a two-year supervision order at Bromley Magistrates' Court on September 13.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to defrauding Bromley Council and the Department of Work and Pensions of more than £16,500 over five years.
Lawrence Siaw, aged 31, illegally claimed more than £5,000 benefits in a six-month period.
The former resident of Selby Road, Penge, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a community punishment order, a compensation order and made to pay £200 costs at Bromley Magistrates' Court on September 6.
Caron Bottalli, of Wadhurst Close, Penge, was found guilty of two charges of benefit fraud at Croydon Crown Court on September 8.
The 40-year-old defrauded Bromley Council of £15,000 over four years.
She was sentenced to a community punishment order and was also made to pay £300 costs.
Bromley Council is in the process of recovering the overpayment of both housing and council tax benefit in these cases.
