A NOT-VERY cut-throat band of orphaned pirates is singing and dancing its way from Penzance to Bromley. One of Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular comic operas, The Pirates Of Penzance, opens at the Churchill on October 9.
The show features West End star Rosemary Ashe, who played fiery prima-donna Carlotta in original Phantom of the Opera production.
First performed in 1879, The Pirates of Penzance features familiar songs such as I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General and A Policeman's Lot Is Not A Happy One.
This production recently won the International Award for Operetta in San Francisco and two awards at the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Philadelphia.
