TWO men have been sentenced for a violent incident at a Milwall football match which saw stewards assaulted.
Labourer Ryan Kelly, aged 22, of Gibbs Avenue, Upper Norwood, received 14 weeks in jail for assault, criminal damage and public order offences, plus a six-year football banning order.
Ian Wilson, aged 22, of Hart Dyke Road, Swanley, was sentenced to eight weeks in jail for assault and criminal damage and two weeks for public order offences, suspended for two years.
He was also given a maximum of 300 hours community service and ordered to pay £350 costs, £90 to Millwall Football Club and was also given a five-year football banning order.
Both pleaded guilty to the offences which took place on August 5.
It follows an investigation by the Lewisham Police Football Liaison Unit.
The presiding magistrate in Greenwich told the men after watching CCTV footage of the incidents: "Millwall have enough problems, without having idiots like you being involved in violent behaviour."
