AN ARMY of Evangelists is using a novel method to spread the word of Christianity.
The congregation of Eltham Park Baptist Church, Westmount Road, were taken by surprise during a visit by the Church Army on September 24.
The national group, which uses unusual ways to spread the work of Christianity, enlisted the help of a Dalek to get the 130 parishioners to think about how they use their time.
Army member David Coleman said: "We wanted to get them to think about how much time they have to spread the message of God and what better way to do it than something related to time travel."
The Church Army, which works in partnership with churches and community groups, will celebrate its 125-year birthday next year.
Mr Coleman, 45, added: "It went down well, all the children really enjoyed it.
"By making things interesting we can keep people interested."
