A PENSIONER died after breaking her neck when the bus on which she was travelling braked violently.
Violet Stevens, 80, from Blackheath, fell over when the 132 bus braked as it travelled along Blackfen Road, near the junction with Ramillies Road, Blackfen, at about 11.30am on September 15.
She was taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, but died four days later.
An inquest into her death was opened on September 20 and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
A post-mortem examination revealed she had died from a broken neck.
Now police are appealing to anyone who was on the bus when the incident occurred to contact them.
Sergeant Paul Sanders, from the Met Police's collision investigation unit, said: "We are investigating the possibility there was a car very close to the bus at the time it braked.
"I want to speak to all the passengers who were on the bus, so we can be clear about what happened."
