SHOPPERS got the opportunity to learn how to stay safe in their homes during their food shop.
Firefighters were on-hand in supermarkets across Kent handing out leaflets and giving fire safety advice.
They also raised cash for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund at the events, held in support of Fire Safety Week which ran from September 18 until September 24.
Shoppers in Northfleet and Dartford could also sign up for free home fire safety checks at the supermarket.
The service offers advice on night-time routines, cooking safely, the dangers of smoking materials, candles, electrical safety and escape routes.
Free fire alarms can also be fitted.
