AN ITALIAN artist who offered to paint a mural on the front of a council building has finished his task.
Generoso Napoliello, who studied at a fine art academy in Naples, Italy, offered to paint the mural on white boards in front of Gravesham Council's Civic Centre for free.
It took a month to paint the mural between rain and other commitments for the 35-year-old, known as Gino.
He completed the project as a thank you to the community which made him feel welcome after he moved to Gravesend from Italy 10 years ago.
Gravesham Council provided all the paint and equipment.
The mural is themed around a scene from Beauty and the Beast, the pantomime being staged at the Woodville Halls Theatre this year.
