PLANS to revamp the one-way system in Crayford's town centre have been scrapped.
Bexley Council's cabinet took the decision after hearing people's views on four options to alter traffic flows.
The alternatives were partial two-way working in Roman Way; complete two-way working in Roman Way; adding an extra 20m lane at the end of London Road where it meets Crayford Road and the High Street, or do nothing.
The council was concerned with the potential expansion of the Sainsbury's store and redevelopment of the BT site the present traffic management system might not be able to cope.
The removal of the bus lane and a new layout at the Crayford bridge has already improved the flow.
But 58 per cent of people who replied to a council survey wanted no further changes.
