THE 20th annual Black History Month will be celebrated in Lewisham and Greenwich.
There will be a wide range of events highlighting the contribution made to the boroughs by black and ethnic minority cultures.
Entertainment during next month's events will range from An Audience with Angie le Mar to lectures and exhibitions on black maritime history.
Lewisham's black history festival will be launched by Mayor Steve Bullock at the Catford Broadway Theatre on October 5.
This will be followed by an evening of films made by film-makers in the borough.
Libraries across the region will host events including storytelling, exhibitions and workshops for people interested in black minority ethnic culture.
