Each year, more than 145,000 students participate in Young Enterprise programmes.
The Young Enterprise Programmes are based on the idea of learning by doing.
Volunteers from business are needed. No previous experience or expert knowledge is required - volunteers act as role models.
In the programmes, students learn about business first-hand, through setting up and running their own real company with the help of volunteer advisers from business, or through in-curriculum classes.
Volunteers work alongside teachers and Young Enterprise provides training. The time commitment ranges from one hour a week for six weeks to one to two hours a fortnight for an academic year, depending on the programme.
